"Brisbane. A city where new bands are formed from the resident dregs of those who haven't already moved to Melbourne. A place where bands are celebrated by the masses dependent on a scale of how well they can imitate pre-existing and accepted popular international bands and/or genres. Local music entertainment of a comfortable, familiar, and easily definable nature. Brisbane is well known for putting mediocrity on a pedestal. Sewers have been lurking in the shadows for a few years now, and they have a new 7" that this city will most likely not give a shit about because it is the exact opposite of everything I just mentioned (except the resident dregs thing).

To get a whiff of music with any worthwhile value around here, one has to sniff around the cultural fringes of this fried tropical town. Sewers of course aint making music for mass consumption, but there's still a part of me wondering why I've never seen them play live to more than 30 people. The two songs offered on this new release show a band that have progressed significantly from their debut LP of 2012, "Hoisted". Whereas you could sum up a lot of the earlier stuff by tiredly referencing feedtime, King Snake Roost, Lubricated Goat - or any of the other 80's Oz RnR elite, these new tunes show an evolved band bringing you some of the finest Australian outsider scuzz heard this decade of the 21st Century.

Only an infuriatingly indifferent place like Brisbane could give rise to these disillusioned guitar slingin' goon sackers, and the sonic nihilism on display here is a glorious call to arms for the disaffected. This release will hopefully continue to pump Sewers unique brand of aural sewerage into the ears of the small but loyal army of weirdos and freaks synonymous with good taste and eventual cultural progress."
